AUROPOL 412 Sulphonated Castor Oil (80%)

Product Description

Auropol 412™ is an anionic surfactant derived from natural oils that is readily biodegradable and has low toxicity characteristics.

COMMON AND OTHER NAMES: Sulphonated Castor Oil, Turkey Red Oil

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION: Castor Oil, Sulphonated

CHARACTERISTICS: AUROPOL 412™ is a viscous golden/amber coloured liquid which readily disperses in water. A nutty odour characteristic of Castor Oil can be detected.

Product Performance

AUROPOL 412TM is an anionic surfactant which has good solubilising powers, is compatible with a wide range of materials and is stable over a wide pH range. Sulphonated Castor Oil has been used for solubilising pine oil into water as a disinfectant cleaner and is suitable for other cosmetic and domestic cleaning formulations due to its mildness to the skin.

Product Usage

  • Paper : Levelling agent in paper coatings
  • Printing: De-inking of printing presses
  • Textile : Levelling and dispersing agent for acid and dispersed dyestuffs
  • Carpet dying especially with nylon
  • Tanning : Penetrating, lubricating and conditioning agent
  • Hygiene : Detergent and cleaners, shampoos, super fatting agent for soaps
  • Adhesives : Plasticizer for glues, wetting and spreading and antifoam properties
  • Metalworking: Emulsifier or solubiliser in clear, water soluble grinding coolants.
  • General : Carrier for vegetable oils, emulsifier for terpineols, mineral and fatty oils, softener and lubricant, dispersant, prevents excessive etching and under cutting of printing plates in photoengraving.
